I believe that one of the most important statements I can make about myself is my love of monastic solitude.
Solitude is my friend, it does not scare me. I do not feel loneliness when I am quiet and alone. I have experienced more loneliness while in the company of people who were there to protect and love me. Or people who I believed would never lie to me but did.
When I am alone I can take off my shoes and put my feet up and feel right with the world.
When I am alone I can seek the answers to things I have hidden from myself.
When I am alone my heart can sore like an eagle. I can go anywhere I want.
When I am alone I don’t have to be anything for anyone.
Hello friend, Solitude, I welcome your silence.
